         Jack Randall is shaken by the news that his brother, Tim, died of natural causes while working as a nurse in the Peace Corps in India. He is surprised again by a mysterious call that leads him to the funeral home where he learns of an appalling discoveryŃTimÕs remains bare evidence of gruesome torture, and his body is missing every transplantable organ. A Vietnam veteran and former member of the elite Marine Corps Force Recon Unit, Jack rises above his psychological problems and uses his skills to find those responsible for his brotherÕs death.

         Jack travels to India, his brotherÕs home for 10 years, and through an acquaintance and a friend of TimÕs, he uncovers a vast black market donor organ operation that profits off the bodies of murdered laborers. The operation is run by a powerful Sikh family, the Guptas, led by Vasud, who believes he is appointed by God. Jack soon learns that his brother was murdered because he hid a computer disc containing incriminating information about the Guptas. With the help of ReneÕ Wooster, the mother of TimÕs son, he finds the disc, but the Guptas kidnap the boy, promising to release him in exchange for the incriminating evidence. Jack must find a way to save his deceased brotherÕs only child and make sure that he did not die in vain. By the end of his journey, he has discovered a fulfilling presence in his life that calms his unstable mind.

         Evil Harvest is a thrilling novel about the devotion of a man who avenges his brotherÕs death and finds the family he has always longed for.

         Sweeten grew up in Oklahoma and has practiced medicine there for 25 years. He graduated from Oklahoma University School of Medicine in 1979 and practiced medicine in his native state for 25 years. Currently, he lives with his wife, ReneÕ, in Seneca, Mo. Evil Harvest is his first book.
